Serving Alvin & Manvel Since 2017
As early as his high school years, Corey worked in the food industry. He attended the culinary program at Alvin High School and soon after graduating high school Corey attended Culinary School in Waco, TX at TSTC, graduating top of his class. He returned to his hometown to continue working in the industry. Corey worked for Joe’s BBQ as a banquet/catering manager and then went on to open the Garage Bar and Grill with Dale Whittenburg who became a mentor to Corey and pushed him every day to learn more about the restaurant business.
Opening Corey’s Kitchen was a dream come true for Corey. Soon after opening in January of 2017, he was voted Alvin Sun/Advertiser Reader’s Choice for “Best Take-Out” and “Best Caterer” in 2019. Family is one of the driving factors behind opening Corey’s Kitchen. With the restaurant industry being so demanding, it was difficult at times to find a work/family balance. He is now able to set his own schedule which allows for more time with his wife, Jennifer, their two girls, Emery and Corley, and twin boys, Jackson and Cannon.
The menu is varied but the main theme would be Southern Comfort Foods. Corey offers burgers, sandwiches, and salads but is well known for his daily specials and of course Corey’s Choice which varies from week to week. In October of this year, Corey was blessed to be able to open his first brick-and-mortar location in Manvel, TX. This location offers a much broader menu than the food trailer but stays consistent with the Comfort Food theme. Catering is also a huge part of Corey’s business. Elite Catering Company is a full-service catering company owned and operated by Corey as well.
